The myth of separation, and the phase shift into a different consciousness
Another lousy first draft, this one transcribed from a client session.
This myth of us being separate is so destructive. It tells indoctrinates us that humans are different and not really part of the environment. Concepts like rugged individualism and pulling yourself up by your bootstraps are good examples—they make you feel isolated, leading your central nervous system to collapse constantly. Because humans are social creatures, we need each other to be fully human. How can one person carry the weight of the world on their shoulders? People have the sense that they are responsible for fixing the entire planet. Which of course, is hopeless and leads to the utter demoralization we’re seeing from so many people.
Humans must recognize their connectedness. It's not just about the New Age idea of "everything is connected," but about viscerally feeling the connection to other people. This realization can create a shock wave. If you look back at history and evolution, it's never linear. For instance, the evolutionary leap from mosses and ferns to flowers happened very quickly—first, mosses and ferns predominated, then there were a few flowers, then suddenly flowers burst forth across the globe and became the dominant plant life. I believe that when understand and feel the power of connection and community, it will cause a phase shift in the energies of the planet. I see more and more people experiencing this. It’s one person here and there, throughout history (the prophets come to mind) and then suddenly—the tipping point will be reached.
In my early 20s, I discovered the concept of the Noosphere through some random research I happened upon. This was in the early 1980’s, when it was so difficult to do research—so many vivid memories of going to the library, and the wild limitations that presented. So I was lucky to find it! Anyway, the Noosphere is a concept proposed by a palentologist and Jesuit priest, Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, and a Russian scientist, Vernadsky. They believed we're on the brink of an evolutionary leap. The first leap was the Geosphere when the earth was formed, the ball of random matter organizing itself into the planet that we have today. Then came the Biosphere of living things, of course including us.
They believed the next evolutionary leap would be the Noosphere—a leap into a different form of consciousness and connection in which humans will rise above the barbaric slaughter of other humans (and the planet) based on hierarchical thinking, and move into realizing our place in the Universe—this is sometimes called Unity Consciousness.
It’s so important to understand that Unity Consciousness isn't everyone feeling and thinking the same and having mind melds. It's the step into a higher consciousness of understanding that human beings have this animal body, which is Gaia, but we also have the ability, because we have this tool called our mind, to grasp what we are. And the Heart mediates this awakening, allows an alchemy to take place.
Their theory was perhaps imperfect, but I feel that it is one of the possibilities.
I do know that we are the universe becoming conscious of itself. So the Noosphere, this phase shift into something new, isn’t something that we can predict from this level of consciousness that predominates on the planet. But I think we're getting a taste of it with discussions like this and communities that are popping up all over the place. We're getting a taste of the total creativity that could be unleashed.

What fun! You’re a wonderful storyteller! A draft? I can hardly wait for what comes next!
Just read my comments of June 9th! I guess I’m your best fan!
Lots of important ideas to delve deeply into! Lots of central thoughts! Would love to discuss more perhaps short weekly on line dialogues?
